Home-based and Zimbabwe
Collective Action developed a world-first training package and resources for community-based organisations (CBOs) to train adolescent girls and young women to advocate for HIV prevention in their communities and support their peers to use oral PrEP. As part of this contract, we delivered a co-design workshop in Zimbabwe with young women and CBOs from South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
In addition to HIV, the training package includes sessions on human rights, gender, gender-based violence (GBV), sexual and reproductive health and rights, and self-care. The reach of the package has expanded beyond Southern Africa, and early intervention results show that it is highly effective at increasing the uptake of oral PrEP among adolescent girls and young women.
